The acai berry is harvested from acai date palm trees, which grow almost exclusively in Brazil. This is because the rare trees grow best in the climate of Brazil and, more specifically, in the tropical climate of the Amazon rain forest. The acai date palm tree is often found in the wild but, because of the rising popularity of acai berries, the tree is now cultivated in plantations in Brazil and wherever an appropriate climate can be found.
